The construction craft laborer is a multi-faceted worker who works in building construction, highway and heavy construction, transportation pipeline construction, demolition and environmental remediation.  In construction and demolition, the laborers are the first person on a project and the last to leave the completed project.  Laborers acquire a broad based of construction knowledge as they work hand-in-hand with other building trades.  In environmental remediation shipbuilding, the laborers respond to abatement needs to keep our environment healthy and safe.

The construction craft laborer apprenticeship program is a 4000-hour program.  The related training includes basic safety training and construction orientation programs for all apprentices.  The construction craft laborer apprentice program also offers three electives to the apprentice to complete his program.  The electives are building construction, highway and heavy construction, and environmental remediation.
