Internation Union of Elevator Contructors

An elevator constructor is a skilled craftsperson who installs, maintains and repairs elevators. The elevator industry is physically challenging. It requires a unique individual who can read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

An elevator worker cannot have fear of heights and must be keenly aware of the possible dangers to themselves and others.

The following will help prepare for the trade

• Mechanical and electrical ability
• Good math and reading skills
• Welding
